5 Times A Day, 50 Times The Reward

I think we've all been through that struggle of waking up so early in the morning that even the birds aren't chirping so we can pray Fajr. We just can't stand having to make wudhu, especially in the cold winter nights, and then praying with our drooping eyelids and aching bodies. But since when have we gotten so lazy? In the Prophet's (saw) times, the companions used to stand all night in prayer, their beards wet with sincere tears, and their feet swollen from the constant pressure. They payed no mind, however, because they were too engrossed in worshiping Allah. And yet here we are, skipping prayers because they're too hard to keep up with or praying with a drifting mind. All five prayers take roughly 30 minutes to pray, depending on how fast or slow you may pray them. 30 minutes out of a 24 hour day to get rewards that are unimaginable. Now math may not be my strong suit but even I can tell you that there is no better deal. And ultimately, you're doing this all for the One that created you and the very world you spend so much time and effort in. You're giving up the shortest amount of time in order to benefit yourself and earn good deeds for the world that actually matters. So next time you hear your alarm in the morning, don't smash the snooze button. Pray to Allah with sincerity. I promise you that the rest of your day will be so much better insha Allah.
